If you love the smaller products Toshiba Libretto W100 laptop and Toshiba Folio 100 Android tablet PC, let’s give you something different from the same company. The Toshiba P505-S8011 Notebook is a big item (in size). Though this Toshiba P505-S8011 laptop is no longer on sale in retail shops online and Microsoft’s store, we would like to praise the manufacturers for coming up with a laptop this good. Sales must have been bad, hence the production was discontinued.
Here’s Almario Alcaraz’ Toshiba P505-S8011 Notebook Review: Toshiba is going against the current fad of bringing out smaller and thinner notebooks in the market. The Japanese company has surprisingly launched the bulky Toshiba P505-S8011. This notebook is gargantuan in the land of midgets. It features probably one of the largest LCD screens for modern day laptops at 18.4 inches. This notebook first saw action at CES 2010.
Toshiba knows selling the P505-S8011 laptop is not going to be easy but with its retail price of only $1,149.00, I am sure serious gamers and graphic artists will snap this one up. The price is ridiculously low for such a feature-packed laptop whose only fault is being too heavy and large. Gamers will love this notebook’s state-of-the-art Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6 Ghz processor and the dedicated 512MB VRAM Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics accelerator. The P505- P505-S8011’s large display screen and high resolution of 1680 x 945 is perfect for the latest 3D video games. I find it very sweet to learn that this notebook comes equipped with Harman/Kardon stereo speakers with Dolby Surround Room Technology. Gaming and viewing movies on this notebook is akin to a home theater experience! Just this audio-nirvana feature alone makes this notebook already a good buy in my book.
Toshiba was very generous enough to pack-in 4GB of DDR3 memory to it which should be enough to handle memory-hungry graphics application like the recently-released Adobe Photoshop CS5. Other notable add-ons are the huge 500GB hard drive and the impressive 12-cell battery which can give you up to 3.5 hours of heavy-usage. The Toshiba P505-S8011 also ships with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. This machine can be desktop-workstation replacement for creating graphics and animation or editing videos. The DVD SuperMulti Writer is just perfect for creating multimedia projects.
While it is true that you won’t be able to use this notebook in an airplane seat, just think of the P505-S8011’s other attractive features but a bit high price. This is a giant with giant-like features and costs $1,149.00. If you can still manage to find a seller of this notebook, we suggest you buy it. It’s a good product.
