Lenovo Ideapad S10 Review: Prices in the Philippines Still High
Prices of the Lenovo Ideapad S10 netbook are still high in the Philippines. After shopping for some netbooks recently, I found out that Lenovo Ideapad S10 tag prices have remained relatively intact. Features and specs are given in the linked article. As to the prices, in November 2008 (when I first saw Lenovo Ideapad S10 netbooks in computer stores), the suggested retail price range was between PhP25,000-30,000. Some stores even sold Lenovo Ideapad S10 netbooks at much higher prices (SM Baguio stores tagged the Ideapad S10 as high as PhP32,000).
After 3 months (as of January 2009), the Lenovo Ideapad S10′s prices did not vary much despite the launch of competing brands like HP Mini 1000, Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and other netbooks. Personally, I like the features and specs of Lenovo Ideapad S10. It is one of the many products I’d like to purchase this year. I am just having second thoughts because of the introduction of HP Mini 2140 (which is anticipated by many netbook lovers in the Philippines). I will study the factors involved in choosing the right netbooks in the near future so I can decide if it’s more feasible to invest in the Lenovo Ideapad S10 or HP Mini 2140 netbook. Many old-time shoppers know that prices of gadgets like cell phones and netbooks depreciate by as much as 10% almost every month. Perhaps, I’ll stick with my old Acer Aspire One 8Gb SSD netbook for now and my two laptops – ECS 400 and Lenovo G410.

Got it! Got it! Thanks to my Santa, hehee!
Been blogging with it while on vacation. So far, I have no problems with it.
But if i am going to compare the prices and convert 30K+ in Swedishkrona, it will turn out it’s more expensive there than here. Mine costs 3,999sek (between 24-25K Php). 32K is relatively high!

Mhy,
Good for you you got already purchased a Lenovo Ideapad S10 netbook. Yup, I admit prices of netbooks in the Philippines are much higher compared to prices in Europe. The Lenovo Ideapad S10 is not an exception.
Mhy,
Btw, I will update you with current netbook prices in the Philippines next week. For now, I cannot recommend Lenovo Ideapad S10. The price is more than PhP27K as of this writing.
