DreamBook ePad A10 – New Windows 7 Tablet PC from Australia
Pioneer Computers is selling the DreamBook ePad A10 Tablet PC for a low price. Pioneer Computers is Australia’s biggest OEM company for computer products but this is the first time that they are entering the tablet computer market. The latest product from their laptop-brand DreamBook series is a Windows 7 slate computer that’s very similar to the design of the HP Slate Tablet PC. While the HP product has yet to materialize, The DreamBook ePad A10 from Pioneer Computers is ready for purchase. The ePad A10 is targeted towards customers not only in Australia but will be sold to global clients who aren’t impressed with Apple’s iPad or Android tablets. Windows 7 is currently the fastest-selling operating system that’s being adapated by laptop, netbook and desktop computer-owners worldwide. It makes sense that tablet computers should also have a Windows 7 operating system. People who are already comfortable with the Windows User Interface and operations will find it easy to switch to tablet computers.
The DreamBook ePad A10 is a mean machine that’s ideal to replace your netbook or laptop. The basic configuration for it comes with an ATOM Processor N455 (1.66GHz) which you can upgrade to N475 (1.83GHz). Since this is Windows 7-powered, it will have a minimum of 1GB DDR3 RAM, again upgradeable to 2GB if you need more horsepower. Current Android tablets in the market right now are still stuck in using ARM processors which may be more power-efficient but are underpowered. The DreamBook ePad A10’s N455 processor is powerful enough to run multiple applications without a sweat. The iPad also suffers from a miniscule 256 MB and will have a hard time beating the ePad’s productive capabilities.
Aside from having a remarkable computing engine, the ePad A10 also comes with a huge 10.1-inch LED-lit multi-touch capacitive display. Windows 7 is being pictured as imperfect on tablet computers because it’s bloated with unnecessary components. But I seriously believe Microsoft is coming up with a lighter version of the OS which will be at par with the Android OS in terms of efficiency. This tablet pc from Pioneer Computers should playback any HD movies with ease because it has a built-in graphics accelerator from Intel. Gaming on it will also be comparable to a netbook of the same configuration, good for anything except for heavy 3D actions.
This Windows 7 Slate PC can be yours for $599, more expensive than the cheapest WiFi iPad but you will get your money’s worth. The DreamBook ePad A10 has indeed a low price and it is a real computer; not just a toy for viewing your daily entertainment.
