Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Prices and Availability in the Philippines
Local computer distributors in the Philippines have confirmed the arrival and availability of Dell Inspiron Mini 9 in the country. Dell Philippines has made the Inspiron Mini 9 available this month and the suggested retail price (SRP) is around Php 25,000 with a variance of Php 1,000 (that is, between 24,000-26,000 Philippine Pesos). In the US, Dell Mini Inspiron 9 laptops/notebooks cost around $350 for the Linux OS installed while units installed with Windows XP cost about $480. In Laoag City, Philippines (where I live), the Dell Inspiron Mini’s SRP is between Php26,000-29,000. The same pricing can be expected in other cities and towns outside the Greater Manila Area (GMA).
According to some reports, initially, Inspiron Mini 9 will be pre-configured with either Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux and comes in black and white colors. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 features an 8.9-inch LED display and built-in webcam, similar to Acer’s Aspire One launched recently in the local market.
Intel held the local launch of its Atom chip recently, showing upcoming designs from Lenovo and Neo, among others. The chipmaker is targeting to sell 100 million netbooks by 2011.
