iPod Touch and iPhone 2.2.1 Firmware Update: Nothing Significant
Apple made the quick iPhone 2.2 firmware update in late November 2008. This year, the iPod Touch and iPhone 2.2.1 firmware update has been relased. The iPhone 2.2.1 firmware update was a disappointment to many users. iPhone users who updated to the latest iPhone 2.2.1 firmware version indicated that there was actually no significant improvement in the iPhone after updating to the 2.2.1 firmware version whose filesize is over 245MB.
The improvements brought about by iPhone 2.2.1 firmware update includes the following:
- Improved General Stability of Safari (Web Browser)
- Fixed issues where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll
That’s it! Hence, iPhone and iPhone 3G users were actually disgusted in expecting something big to happen with this new firmware release. Experts even suggested not to upgrade the iPhone firmware right now. Users should wait for a newer iPhone firmware which is expected to happen in a month or two.

Why would they even have a firmware update on iPod Touch and iPhone to 2.2.1 if it ain’t significant. The iPod Touch and iPhone 2.2.1 firmware update is not needed yet at this point in time.
