Sony SX41 aka Sony DCR-SX41 Flash Camcorder Specs and Price
The Sony SX41 or Sony DCR-SX41 Flash Camcorder is a good alternative to the previous camcorder we have featured here – the Hitachi DZ BD70A BluRay 5.3MP DVD high definition camcorder. Comparing Sony SX41 and Hitachi DZ BD70A features and technical specifications, we are inclined to go for Sony SX41. Here are the reasons why:
First, the Sony SX41 has an embedded 8GB internal memory, which according to Sony, can store videos of up to 6 hours. Second, The Sony SX41 is cheaper by 300 US dollars compared to Hitachi DZ BD70A (Sony SX41 – $299 on Amazon while the cost of Hitachi DZ BD70A is almost $600). Price is a factor in choosing many electronic products like camcorders, right? With the technical specifications and good features of Sony SX41, we do not find the shots of the two products significantly different. Besides, our need for video quality is not so high – picnics, parties and other personal stuff. Sony SX41 is a good choice in our opinion.

Sony SX41 Review: With its very cheap price, Sony SX41 stands as one of the lowest-priced camcorders with great features. What we love about Sony SX41 include the ability to increase its storage capacity via a removable media (Memory Stick PRO Duo, 16GB max + 8GB internal memory). Other review of Sony SX41 yield positive results. But here’s the thing. If you intend to records videos for a long periods of time at the highest possible video quality, the Sony SX41 camcorder is not the right choice. This is because the storage media you have (internal + removable) might not even be enough. The solution to this is to get yourself an extra memory stick. Be guided by the estimated recoding times for this flash camcorder based on your chosen picture quality mode or or video mode.
However, if you regularly copy the video files from your memory stick onto your hard drive, and do not record videos for say 3 straight hours, then we can recommend Sony SX41. Go buy it. It’s a bargain for under $300.

Would like to know if Sony SX41 or Sony DCR-SX41 Flash Camcorder is easily compatible with the Mac. I’ve heard it’s incompatible, and then heard that it’s NOT compatible.

found out through my brother in law,,, as i just purchased it myself, and Sony SX41 aka Sony DCR-SX41 Flash Camcorder is compatible with the mac. If you’re not able to import, you can always use a card-reader to download from the pro-duo card.
again, you might need to do an extra step to import,,, by going to file, import, instead of just plugging in the camera, and having mac recognize,,,
