If you’ve read our past article on Sprint Evo 4G Android Phone: Release Date and Features, we’d like to update you with some more info on Sprint HTC Evo 4G technical specs and other stuff this new Android-powered device has to offer. We have obtained the full technical specifications of HTC Evo 4G from Sprint, which boasts of being the first-ever 4G wireless network in the US. There are many features of HTC Evo 4G, not just the speed of loading and running mobile phone apps that make us want to buy this now (if only it’s already available). To start with, we love the visual voicemail feature and Live Video Sharing with QIK. Its contemporary, the T-Mobile HTC HD2 smartphone cannot be ignored though with its long battery life (20 days in standby mode, 6 hours talk time).

Steve Jobs is a marketing genius… I bet he planned this from day one. The iPhone 4G is the fourth generation iPhone, and has nothing to do with 4th generation data speeds. The Evo 4G that will soon be offered by Sprint has a WiMax chip in it for download speeds of 6mbps or more. I’ve clocked as high as 9.41mbps on my home Clear WiMax modem. So if you’re excited about the new iPhone 4G, I’m happy for you. It’s sure to be an awesome device, but don’t get scammed here. This is simply the fourth iteration of the iPhone, but it’s not going to be running on the latest, greatest, and fastest network. It’ll still be on AT&T’s network… you know, the guys who classify broadband as 90kbps or more… haha. Seriously though, the funny thing is that while WiMax is awesome, it’s still slower than the HSPA+ network being rolled about by t-mobile, with speeds up to 22mbps, and that’s considered to be a 3.5G network. I guess newer isn’t always better, but still the WiMax network is more efficient, so it’ll be scalable up to 100mbps. Gotta give props to t-mobile though, they’ll technically have the fastest network. Good for them :-) .

It MUST be noted (to many people are getting confused about this) that the 4G ipod, assuming that’s even the name they’ll use (I’ve also heard HD) is the 4th generation model. It is NOT a 4G phone. AT&T, nor Verizon has a 4G network.

Though this device may have been the first 4G smartphone out there, that doesnt make it worth its weigh in gold… Especially when we are paying an extra $10 a month for 4G that some of us may or may not have. I actually do have the HTC EVO 4G though but I got it because of the sheer amazingness of it and the features… For those of you who are out there buying it for its blazing fast 4G though, you’ve been warned… You can find out if you have 4G in your area at Sprint’s official website.

@J. Harper, You’re absolutely correct. I for one, believe Apple was probably in the making of their 4th generation iPhone when the Evo was announced along with any other few 4G phones out there, and they just decided to release it that moment to compete with these devices. Rushing the build and in turn creating the flaws we see on the iPhone 4 today…
