Motorola Backflip is a New Droid Phone Model With Motoblur
Motorola Backflip was first introduced at CES 2010. Motorola Backflip is powered by Android OS and features Motoblur like its predecessor, the Motorola CLIQ Android Phone also known as Motorola CLIQ MB200 (T-Mobile). Motorola came up with an innovative design for this smartphone model. It can be called as the world’s first and only contortionist smartphone. Cheeky name too, Backflip.
Do not misunderstand me, this phone cannot do backflips by any Wi-fi or Bluetooth control, but it certainly twisted some heads at CES 2010. In fact it won CNET’s BEST OF CES 2010 award for the mobile phone category! I know why it won; it certainly is the only phone that can do what it can do. Kudos to Motorola, you just made a very hip product I will surely buy.
Product designers at Motorola are obviously fond of picture frames or bedside clocks. They made the sliding QWERTY keyboard double-hinged for the Motorola Backflip. This allows the QWERTY keyboard to swing in the traditional keyboard typing position but it can be bent to the backward pose so that it would appear to be a small photo frame or bedside alarm clock!
Another peculiar feature of the Motorola Backflip with Motoblur is the Touchpad behind the screen! Yes, the Motorola designers put a small laptop touchpad on the back of the Backflip screen! Motorola called it what else, the BackTrack! I say it’s bloody brilliant of them, now you can navigate the screen menu from behind. This is boldly helpful especially if you have wet or dirty fingers and do not want to smear dirt on your phone’s LCD screen! No other smartphone or cellphone maker has ever thought of this.
Unlike my low Nokia N97 Mini review and rating for exorbitant pricing, I give the Motorola Backflip 5 stars rating for being original and stylish. The Backflip is a fresh take on smartphone design. It certainly has these new unique charms. The phone also will be tightly integrated with MotoBlur, the content-delivery and backup software by Motorola. Here are some more details about this cell phone.
