Viewsonic may not have the firepower to match the Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Thunderbolt in the Android phone market but the little company famous for making computer monitors has came up with the world’s first ever Dual-SIM enabled Android phone. The Viewsonic V350 Dual-SIM Android Phone got unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2011 and while it did not offer earth-shaking features, its Dual-SIM ability sure made it an event stand-out!
Viewsonic Corp. is aiming to market this phone to business users who will certainly benefit from its Dual-SIM feature. Viewsonic V350 Android Phone allows users to use two networks at the same and keep 2 separate business and personal numbers in just one phone. Billing and contacts lists also remains separate to protect the user’s corporate number from getting abused by friends and family members.
“Our V350 Smartphone is one of the most functional Dual-SIM phones on the market. With Android GMS for access to more than 200,000 Google applications, it has powerful multimedia capabilities and with both SIM cards active, you can place and receive calls on each at any time. The Dual-SIM proposition is compelling and will generate considerable market uptake this year.” explains Junaid Gul, Country Manager for ViewSonic Middle East.
The Viewsonic V350 Android Smartphone features a capacitive 3.5-inch display and runs on Android OS 2.2 Froyo. It’s a multimedia powerhouse like any other business Android phone. It can play music, videos and surf the net. Viewsonic added a 5-megapixel autofocus camera to the V350. There’s also a Micro-SD expansion port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and assisted GPS navigation.
Viewsonic V350 release date and price will be announced soon. Other than the Viewsonic’s V350 phone, another humble phone took the spotlight on the MWC 2011 – the Sonim XP3300 Force Rugged Phone.
