Vodafone 555 Blue Facebook Phone Unveiled: It’s Not an Android Smartphone!
HTC ChaCha Facebook phone, also known as HTC Status on AT&T, was a commercial success in the US and other countries. Most likely inspired by the ChaCha, Vodafone is preparing to release their own branded Facebook mobile phone this August 2011.
The Vodafone 555 Blue Facebook Phone follows the same QWERTY keyboard design of the HTC ChaCha Facebook Phone. It also sports a dedicated Facebook F logo button that offers 1-press access to the world’s most addictive social website.
This social-centric feature phone is made by TCL exclusively for Vodafone. Unlike the HTC Salsa and ChaCha Facebook Phones, the Vodafone 555 Blue doesn’t use Android as its operating system. Instead, it runs on Vodafone’s proprietary software that really integrates most of Facebook’s components.
The 555 Blue Facebook-centric Phone from Vodafone comes with QWERTY keypad.
Obviously geared towards Facebook users who can’t afford more expensive smartphones, the Vodafone 555 Blue will come very cheap. The product’s affordability is apparently clear, Vodafone plans to sell this cellphone for prepaid users in emerging markets and the U.K for around £60 or $100. The prepay plan will include some free data allotment.
While no official pricing and final release date for Vodafone 555 Blue has been announced, the carrier did reveal that this Facebook-centric phone has a 2.4-inch 320×240 display, 200 MHz MediaTek processor, 40MB of internal memory, microSD slot, Bluetooth 2.1, FM Radio, a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, music and video player. This one has no 3G or Wi-Fi but users will enjoy 2.5G internet access.
Some of you might be upset to learn that Vodafone dares to launch a Facebook phone that has no 3G or WiFi but the carrier is confident the 555 Blue will appeal to users who aren’t ready to spend much money on expensive 3G data access. Plus there’s the famous 0.facebook.com mobile access site that costs nothing to use on your phone. Turn on the Vodafone 555 Blue and it will automatically login to your Facebook account!

Nice to have the space to make my suggestion on the Vodafone 555 Blue phone. I really think the phone should have had an up-grade options. While it is Ok with it’s present price,and also cute looking, but, without 3G & Wifi. Hummmmm! However, I need an Unlocking code for mine please. IMEI: (356694043730290)
