Pantech Vega N5 Dual-Core 1.5 GHz Android Superphone Released in South Korea
Remember the Pantech Vega Racer published on our site last May 2011? It’s the world’s first smartphone to run on a Dual-Core 1.5 GHz processor. Pantech has kept its promise to deliver it by July and they have. Rechristened as the Pantech Vega N5 IM-T100K Superphone, it is already available for purchase in South Korea.
Despite the predictions on the previous article about it, the Pantech Vega Racer or N5 actually comes with even better specs than expected. Instead of the 4.3-inch, the phone being sold in South Korea actually comes with a 5-inch display! Such a huge screen makes this Android smartphone almost a tablet PC.

The Vega N5, formerly Vega Racer, is Pantech's flagship phone to compete in the Android phone market.
The super brawny dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM 8660 CPU and the new Adreno 220 graphics accelerator makes the Pantech Vega N5 a perfect substitute for bigger tablet computers. It can definitely serve full HD video playback and true 3D gaming on the move. If the Pantech Pursuit II Brew OS-powered Smartphone is a low-end model, the Vega Racer is Pantech’s high-end model.
The 5-inch display offers a netbook-like resolution of 800×480, browsing the web or reading an eBook is going to be comfortable for your eyes. Pantech is selling this phone with Android 2.3.3 OS but if you are adventurous, I bet this device can easily exist with Android 3.0 Honeycomb like a Lenovo IdeaPad K1 Tablet PC.
I’m saying it so because the Pantech Vega N5 IM-T100K comes with 1GB of DDR2 RAM which makes it perform like a mini notebook computer! Wait until Pantech starts selling this to Europe or the U.S., lots of coders will make a Honeycomb ROM for it because Android 2.3.3 is just too limited to fully maximize the massive computing power of two 1.5 GHz cores!
