HTC Hero vs. Motorola CLIQ: Battle of the Android Smartphones

Sprint HTC Hero versus T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ: A day after Sprint Nextel announced that they will be bringing HTC Hero Android Phone in the United States, T-Mobile USA also introduced Motorola CLIQ Android Phone. We will be providing a comparison of the technical specs and features of the HTC Hero and Motorola CLIQ android phones.

T-Mobile’s Motorola CLIQ HVGA screen measures 3.1 inches while Sprint’s HTC Hero LCD display is slightly larger at 3.2 inches. Motorola CLIQ and HTC Hero displays both have a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and are both touch-sensitive screens as well. Of course, these phones are called androids because they are using Android 1.5 Operating System. A 5.0 Megapixel camera is another common feature of the HTC Hero and Motorola CLIQ androids.

Now, let us spot the differences between these android phones. On the input methods, the HTC Hero uses a touch screen and trackball that is kind of hard to get used to while Motorola CLIQ has a touch screen and a side slide-out keyboard that looks really cool. HTC Hero Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR + A2DP and Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) connectivity while Motorola CLIQ also showcased its 3G – GSM, 3G, WiFi, EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12.

Dimensions (H x W x D): 4.4 x 2.21 x 0.565 inches

By the way, Verizon also released two new phones simultaneously: Samsung Rogue and Samsung Intensity.
