Asian countries are big Nokia fans. The Surge model, the latest phone released by Nokia hopes to capture a larger market share in the US and of course, Asia (Nokia’s turf). Nokia Surge is a full-QWERTY mobile phone with a slim slide-out keyboard. It has the following basic features exclusive to AT&T subscribers:

  1. Music Features – Music ID, Mobi VJ, XM Radio, VIP Access
  2. Video Support and Utilities – Cv, Mobi TV, AT&T Video Share
  3. Games and Entertainment Capabilities – Monopoly, Asphalt 4 HD, Guitar Hero 3, Juice Caster, iPlay Bowling, Wiki mobile, Media Mall 2.0
  4. 2.0 megapixel camera – Customers can capture quality photos with color camera and 4X digital zoom
  5. AT&T Navigator – AT&T Navigator provides audible turn-by-turn directions, monitors traffic and alerts users when there is a slowdown or incident
  6. AT&T Mobile Music – Customers can listen and download their favorite music from Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, XM Radio and more over the air
  7. AT&T Video Share – The first-ever service in the U.S. that allows users to share live video over wireless devices while participating in a voice call
  8. JuiceCaster – Customers can share videos and pictures from their wireless device to the Web’s most popular sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. Myspace Mobile (which is supported by other phones like T-Mobile Android G1 smartphone) is not supported at the moment but it could be in later developments.

Stay connected using mail for exchange, personal email, instant messaging, or access documents on the go.
Run all your favorite applications music/internet/voice simultaneously and switch between them effortlessly.

Nokia Surge smartphone, when it becomes available, will most likely be sold unlocked because Asians prefer unlocked Nokia phones over those sold with contracts. Release date in the Philippines, China, Singapore and other Asian countries is unknown yet as of this writing.
