A4Tech PK-835MJ 5-Megapixel (MP) Webcam Features and Technical Specifications
We have purchased an A4Tech PK-835MJ 5-Megapixel (MP) Webcam for Google Mail’s Voice + Video Chat and/or Gtalk. Unfortunately, this model does not work well with said softwares if the IM Magician is installed. We have discussed this issue in our article “Webcam Not Compatible With GTalk: Incompatibility Issues in GTalk“. We have found out that uninstalling the IM Magician software and drivers made this webcam function properly using Gtalk and Gmail Voice plus Video Chat. Now we can use Gmail’s voice and video chat without any problem, which is a huge relief on our part, really.
What made us purchase A4Tech PK-835MJ 5MP Webcam is the high resolution. With 5 megapixels, we thought the video quality would be better than built-in webcams for notebooks/laptops. However, the 5MP resolution can only be attained if and only if the required drivers are installed (which caused some problems with GTalk).

To achieve faster and better audio quality, we would advise that you use your default microphone, not the built-in microphone of A4Tech PK-835MJ. After testing A4Tech PK-835MJ’s microphone, we have observed a few seconds of delay when we used it in Yahoo Messenger and Gmail. The A4Tech PK-835MJ 5-Megapixel (MP) Webcam price is under $20 or around PhP 1,000 only.
A4Tech PK-835MJ 5-Megapixel (MP) Webcam is a cheap webcam but we highly recommend it. Our A4Tech PK-835MJ 5-Megapixel (MP) Webcam review is highly positive. If you want a webcam with good image quality, this one can provide it. But make sure your internet connection is fast enough to support fast video rendering. A DSL internet connection with at least 512Kbps bandwidth would do perfectly fine. Below this bandwith, your video chat could break at random times.
