New Features in iTunes 8: Genius Playlist, Genius Sidebar and HD TV Shows
If you have been playing around with Apple iTunes 7 (or should I say using iTunes), then iTunes 8 offers great features you don’t want to miss. First off, it offers a Genius Playlist where it automatically creates a playlist from compatible songs depending on your selection.
According to Apple, iTunes 8′s Genius Playlist “is a brilliant way to create perfect playlists. Play a song, click the Genius button, and iTunes creates a playlist of other songs from your library that go great together. iTunes 8 Genius playlists help you discover songs in your library you never knew you had — and rediscover forgotten favorites.”
The iTunes 8 Genius Playlist uses an algorithm to search for songs in your library based on some factors – genre of the music you selected, for one.
On the other hand, the Genius Sidebar displays songs from the iTunes Store that go great with it. The Genius sidebar won’t recommend songs already in your library, and you can preview and buy recommended songs directly from the sidebar.
Other great features of iTunes 8 include: Grid View, HD TV Shows, Enhanced Accessibility (iTunes 8 is now screen reader friendly on both Mac and PC. Manage your iTunes library using VoiceOver in Mac OS X Leopard or Window-Eyes for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Or use your screen reader to purchase or download content from the iTunes Store — including iTunes U) and New Visualizer.
Apple is really on a big roll with their latest products like iPhone 3G, iPod Touch and iPod Nano-Chromatic (8GB and 16GB). These gadgets sell like pancakes anywhere in the world where they are available like in the US and Europe where people dispose of their gadgets every 3-6 months to buy the latest models.
iTunes 8 is free for download. If you love good music, then I’m pretty sure you’ll love iTunes 8. Donwload it for free at this address: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ – the iTunes version 8 is for Mac and PC so it’s very flexible indeed. Check it out!
