Is Limewire Illegal or the Malicious Use of Limewire Makes it Illegal?
Is Limewire really illegal? Limewire is one the most popular free File Sharing programs especially among “downloaders”. The quesiton about its legality has been raised by millions of users. Is Limewire illegal? Technically, Limewire is NOT illegal. It is a legitimate software which has gained a name for itself. It even has a commercial (PRO) version. The malicious use of Limewire by way of using it to install malwares and embed malicious codes within files shared across networks makes it an illegal act.
It’s like saying money is evil but in itself not. The misuse of money is evil. The analogy holds true for the question “Is Limewire illegal?”. You see, we have published a document about the Malwares and Viruses in Limewire. Head on to the article to read more about this topic and see for yourself why Limewire is not illegal and the use of it by hackers, crackers and virus creators as a vehicle in distributing malicious codes online makes it a questionable software to use when downloading materials from the internet like MP3 and other music files, free softwares, videos, etc.
The current version of Limewire in our computer is 4.18.8 and we’re currently downloading version 5 (BASIC). Yes it’s free and no, we’re not going PRO just yet. We don’t have practical use for it since we seldom download stuff using Limewire. We like Frostwire better although we woul dlike to encourage everyone to buy any software or copyrighted material from authorized sellers instead of simply downloading them via Torrent sites. This is to insure a higher level of online security. Last but the the , we would like to clarify that Limewire is not illegal to use (the same with Frostwire). It’s the distribution of viruses, malwares and copyrighted materials via this P2P program that is illegal, not the software itself.

u say that lime wire is not illegal but when u read the copyright laws for lime wire users it says that limewire is legal but then they go on to tell us that it is illegal to us it for downloading movies and pics and songs, then they say that its what they call sharing but if thats what they call it then thats obviously what they are using it for even download the program it even has a share button. the safety laws just make it look like they are innocent but putting that kind of stuff in there but at the same time they have their own loop hole so they can us it illegally and yet still be under the terms of legal.
