Download Frostwire: Free P2P File Sharing Program
Frostwire is pretty much a Limewire clone based on features, graphical user interface, connection, etc. The huge difference is it is an opensource file sharing software – totally free and downloadable from so many places online. It’s a good alternative to Limewire especially if you need faster download speeds. According to the manufacturer, Frostwire has no spywares, adwares and other malicious softwares/scripts in it. While that could be true, the files you download using Frostwire could still be infected with viruses, trojans, malwares and adwares. The same thing can be said about Limewire.
But let us focus our attention on Frostwire in the meantime. The latest version of Frostwire is 4.17.2 as I write this post. This is the same version I’m using in this laptop computer. It boasts of the following features:
- iTunes Compatible!
- Faster Torrent Speeds (which is also dependent on your internet connection speed)
- Friendly Online Chat Rooms
- Bittorrent Support!
- Even More Connections
- New & Improved Skins
A screenshot of Limewire 4.17.2 is shown below:
In my personal experience, Frostwire is a good P2P File Sharing Program. I have not encountered any problem with it whatsoever. Frostwire has never crashed in Microsoft Vista. It is also one of the opensource softwares packaged with Linux Ubuntu 9.04 desktop edition but reports indicate that the 64-bit version crashes in some systems. The 32-bit version is what we have in Windows Vista and Windows XP and it’s doing just fine.
