Mafia Wars Bangkok Update on Facebook: A New City Expansion
Zynga wants to keep its Mafia Wars fanatics happy so they introduced a new Bangkok city expansion in Facebook. Players can access the new Mafia Wars Bangkok map and do new 90 jobs and earn more powerful items. Zynga already announced this Bangkok update last December 9, 2010 and declared it will be opened last Christmas but due to technical difficulties, the launch was postponed. Last January 22, Zynga did a test-beta launch from a select group of players and it wasn’t bogged down with too many glitches so they officially launched the Open Beta for Bangkok to all players on January 28. Now everybody with Thai Passport can travel to Bangkok and do the jobs.
The New Mafia Wars Bangkok Expansion
If you want to obtain a Thai Passport, you need to acquire these 3 items first:
- Triad Coin which you can get from doing the Asian Museum break-in Job under the Soldier job tier of New York City.
- Yakuza Sake is another loot drop from Repel the Yakuza job under Hitman job tier in New York City.
- Thai Note is another item that drops from doing the Smuggle Thai Gems job under Enforcer job tier in New York City
Once you collect all 3 items, you can now get a Thai Passport. The easiest way to do this is to just use your Credit Card or Paypal. You can buy a Thai passport from Zynga for only 30 Godfather points. If you are from a third world country and can’t afford to pay real money, go beg some of your Mafia Wars friends to send you a Thai Passport. The passports now drop randomly from doing Bangkok jobs. If nobody takes pity on you, you still can get a Thai passport by talking to the Clerk.
Once you are in Bangkok, you will enjoy finding money again because the currency for this city is Thai Baht and everybody will start out poor once more. You gotta do the jobs in Bangkok to earn Bahts. You should also choose a faction. You can opt to join either the Yakuza or the Triad. If you want high-attack weapons and items, I suggest you join the Yakuza. Zynga only offered 2 Job tiers for Bangkok, Brawler and Criminal. You can max out these jobs tiers pretty quickly if you have high Energy stats. You can own businesses in Bangkok to help you gather more Bahts.
Players are ecstatic about this new expansion. It has been so long since Mafia Wars did the Moscow Expansion and millions of players already maxed out their Moscow job mastery. Some bored Mafiosos went and played other Mafia-themed games instead. Now Zynga is urging its players back with this new Bangkok expansion. I am back playing Mafia Wars again actively for the chance to get new high defense and high attack weapons, armors and vehicles. If you chose the Yakuza, you will get the chance to buy from its faction store some powerful items. I would like to own a lot of Yakuza Assassins which has 50 Attack and 26 Defense. Each Yakuza Assassin can be yours for B$ 480,000. You will also need to gain Allied status with the Yakuza before you can buy this uber-powerful item.
If you want to improve your Mafia Wars Total Attack and Defense Rating, you need do Bangkok Jobs. Furthermore, doing jobs means mastering them which gives free skill points!
