Number of FarmVille on Facebook Hits 81 Million Users and Counting
Appdata.com, an independent application metrics monitoring company, announced that Zynga’s blockbuster social farm simulation game, FarmVille has breached 81 million Monthly Active Users! Accordingly, Appdata.com has also disclosed that there are now 29.7M Daily Active Users of FarmVille. That’s almost 30 million Facebookers around the world addicted to role-playing a farmer’s life everyday! I am confident that FarmVille will hit 100 million users on Facebook alone by April 2010 (this month).
Facebook is now available on its own website and has just recently been ported to msn.com so all in all I think FarmVille now has more than 90 million global player population. The maker of FarmVille, Zynga, is already valued at more than $1 BILLION!!! The rocket rise of FarmVille (estimated 10 million new users added every month) will mean more money for Zynga. Virtual farmers like me are spending real cash to purchase Farm Cash from Zynga so we could decorate and upgrade our Facebook farm. I cannot help it; I am spending more money on FarmVille. I quit visiting Starbucks so I can save dollars for FarmVille purchases! I have also been losing much sleep over this addictive game.
FarmVille is expected to generate up to $300 million income this year for the company if the trend continues. Please join us in FarmVille and have great fun pretending you are a farmer. It’s in our DNA, it might be the 21st century already but deep inside in our hearts, most of us just want the slow-paced and relaxing life of a small town farmer.
