Polaroid i1035: Polaroid i1035 10MP Digital Camera

February 27, 2009 · Filed Under Digital Cameras

Here comes the Polaroid i1035 10MP digital camera that will surely be loved by many. Why are we featuring Polaroid i1035 10MP Digital Camera in this site? Simple. We want one. Our Sony Cybershot DSC-S600 needs to retire and the Polaroid i1035 with its powerful 10MP Digital Camera is a very good candidate for a replacement. Actually we were thinking of getting a Nikon D80 but the price is too high and shipping the item to the Philippines will cost more than $1,100 dollars (more than PhP 50,000). With Polaroid i1035 10MP Digital Camera, the price at Amazon is only under $120 (minus shipping cost). In our estimate, shipping Polaroid i1035 10MP Digital Camera to our country will cost us around $150 in total, which is still a bargain for us. As affiliates of Amazon, we hope to get some discounts on this 10MP Digital Camera, Polaroid i1035.

I bought one for use in my CHL classes (the applications require passport-type photos), and so far, I have not been terribly happy with it. The primary reason I chose this camera was the placement of the flash, which does not leave a shadow on one side (a problem for passport photos).

I found the setups to be way too confusing and cumbersome. Also, if you change the batteries (this camera eats batteries big-time, so I went with rechargeable NiMH AAs) it loses all of the settings, so you have to start over if you are trying to do anything out of the ordinary.

For starters, it would not transfer to my laptop directly. Plan B was to use my SDcard reader, which worked fine. But the color balance was too far off, so I ended up with Plan C, my lower-resolution Canon, which is adequate, but has a screen that is way too small for my old, tired eyes. At least I have a monopod, which helps a lot for indoor portrait work.

So it looks like the camera might be marginally useful, but only after I do a lot more experimentation and memorize a complex setup. Would be nice if I could “lock in” the setup that I end up using, but that does not appear possible.

I guess I’m willing to put up with this camera, since I got it for $79, but I think that I will eventually get a higher-end camera. Although that seems a bit of excessive unnecessariness for something I use for exactly one purpose twice a month.
