Pentax Optio E60 vs Polaroid i1035 10MP Digital Camera
Ok, here’s what we promised in our article on Pentax Optio E60 10MP Digital Camera. This 10-megapixel digital camera is pitted against one of its rivals in this class, the Polaroid i1035 10MP digital camera. Between the two 10MP cameras, we’d say that the Polaroid i1035 has a slight edge over the Pentax Optio E60. Here are a few reason:
Price
The Polaroid i1035 10MP digital camera is cheaper. It’s sold on Ebay for only 80 dollars or less (some sellers though sell this item for over $100!). For the Pentax Optio E60, it’s usually sold for $97 and above. It’s only now that its price hits rock bottom ($79.99 for both black and pink units) but still the determining factor for the overall price is the shipping cost. On Amazon, the same scenario can be seen. The Polaroid i1035 is still much lower compared with the price of Pentax Optio E60 – $80 is to $95.
Features
Display: The Polaroid i1035 has a 3″ display while the Pentax Optio only has 2.4″. Size does matter. in this department, the Polaroid wins.
Flash: For up to 5 meters, the Polaroid i1035 is still effective while the Pentax Optio showed a remarkably weaker flash using this distance as reference.
Picture Clarity: In this division, the two digital cameras are not significantly different. We soemtime find it difficult to distinguish the two photos especially during daylight and with the same settings. However, during night time or when the lighting is low, the Polaroid i1035 wins the competition because of its better flash.
Casing: Pentax Optio E60 10MP digital camera beats the Polaroid i1035 10MP in this category. It has an obviously stronger casing. We didn’t really have to drop our cameras on the ground to test this but the look-and-feel of the two units indicate so. That’s more than enough for us. The Polaroid has a pure plastic body with a wrap-around metal just like the Pentax E60 but pressing the buttons creates some sort of noise as if about to break although the 2 cameras are both made in China (the ones we got and most likely the same thing you’ll get if you purchase any of them).
That’s about it for now. Our reviews of the two camera models have been included in our archives so please feel free to read them especially if you are keen on the features and specs of these two units. You might have an opposing idea about these 10-megapixel digital cameras but we will firmly stick with our opinions. If you’ll seek our recommendations, we’d recommend that you buy the Black Polaroid i1035 10MP digital camera. It’s simply one of the best we’ve tried so far.
