The Canon PowerShot S100 Digital Camera features 12.1 Megapixels high-sensitivity CMOS sensor. It may not be as huge as the resolution of the Samsung WB210 14MP Digital Camera but the PowerShot S100 boasted the new Digic 5 Image Processor.
Canon PowerShot S100 uses the HS system that is a common feature found in the Canon PowerShot ELPH 500 HS, ELPH 300 HS and ELPH 100 HS compact camera models. However, this one is a more advanced model.
Other than 12.1-Megapixel resolution, the Powershot S100 got 5x optical zoom, 24mm wide angle f/2 lens and 3-inch LCD display. It can record Full HD 1080p videos that can be viewed on a widescreen HDTV via its HDMI feature.
Canon’s PowerShot S100 also features PictBridge so it can directly connect with PictBridge-certified devices such as the Lexmark Interpret S405 Wireless Multifunction Printer.
The Canon PowerShot S100 Camera is more advanced than the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS 12.1MP Digital Camera so the higher price is no surprise. It has an estimated retail price of $429.99 or more. It’s available in Black or Silver models.
