Skype geeks must be trembling already because the new Gmail Voice Call feature, Gmail’s just-released PC-to-Phone calling, did a blockbuster debut. Americans and Canadians did more than 1 million calls right on the first trial day of Gmail’s calling feature. This achievement is already a sign of good times coming for Gmail users. Google Voice and Chat in Gmail has an upgrade. Internet behemoth Google is once again flexing its muscle by updating Google Voice and chat functions in Google Mail. The company announced today that Gmail users can now enjoy free unlimited voice calls to landline and mobile phone numbers in the US and Canada. Check your Gmail accounts and you will see the Free Voice Call feature is already enabled! You only need to install the Google Voice plug-in extension for the Call option to your Gmail account and off you go to make free voice calls in select countries!

Gmail Users Sue Google for Google Buzz Launch

Google was already licking its wounds from the virulent reaction by Gmail users to the introduction of Google Buzz – the social networking app in Gmail. The backlash from millions of angry people came from Buzz’s auto-follow feature where in Gmail account owners who activated Buzz raised privacy issues. Gmail users were initially griping that Google’s attempt of turning Gmail into a social networking platform wasn’t what they signed up for. They just wanted a free and reliable webmail service. How ironic that Google’s noble attempt to break Facebook’s almost-monopoly hold on social networking has landed in court.

Since Facebook recently announced that they are developing their own email system, Google retaliated with the release of its own social networking application, Google Buzz. This open-source social networking was released a few days ago and is tightly integrated with Gmail. I already have it on my Google Gmail account and I am excited to have tested this new app this week. My conclusion: the Google Buzz App is an exciting new feature in Gmail. Game Apps could be on their way to your Google Mail accounts after this development (suspicion).

Gmail Autopilot launched! The Big G (Google) launched its experimental software Gmail Autopilot which has a certain level of artificial intelligence such that when someone sends you an email, Gmail automatically answers it depending on the keywords used in the letter sent. Gmail Autopilot was designed make email communications a bit easier to Google Mail users. However, as a programmer, the algorithm of Gmail Autopilot has yet to be perfected. Fortunately, Google made no such claim about the autopilot software.

Google mail or Gmail was reported down a few hours ago by GMail subscribers. GMail login problems (Gmail down) have been experienced by angry users. However, Gmail was not down when I tried to login a few minutes ago, Google Gmail was working fine contrary to reports that GMail is down and is not working properly as many have experienced. In addition, my location is Philippines and I’m using Flock (which stores login details) and are readily accessible in the toolbar.
