Only 4 days after E3 2010 is over and an enterprising geek already decided to delve into the internals of his newly-bought Xbox 360 Slim. The Xbox 360 Slim gaming console obviously takes less space and prettier than the original Xbox 360 White but he wanted to wanted to know more so he tore it down. His curiosity confirmed to us all that Microsoft did not only downsized the internal components of this latest Xbox 360 but also restructured the whole thing. Based on this guy’s investigation, he is claiming that the Slim’s greatly-improved noise-reduction owes to the fact that Microsoft has abandoned ATI’s original separate CPU & GPU design for it.

A leaked technical paper from a top Microsoft software development engineer is hinting a possible update for the Xbox 360 console that will enable it to support third-party USB external drives (flash drives). If it is true, this is a most important improvement and will make it at par with the Sony PlayStation console which has had USB drive storage support since 2006. The document stated that due to the advancement of high-capacity and high-throughput of USB mass storage devices, it is time for the Xbox 360 to be compatible with them.
